Social Outreach to Emily Care Center – Grade 5

Spread the love

Christmas is a time of giving and sharing and bonding and celebrating. And that is exactly what the children of Grade 5 did this year. As part of Our Social Outreach, we visited Emily Care Center on 14 December 2022. A home that cares for old and retired nuns. The children prepared well designed Christmas Cards for the Nuns and put their hearts into practicing Christmas Carols.

We were welcomed with such warmth at the home. The Nuns were so excited to see the children, their smiles were radiating. They spent time talking to the children and sharing a special Christmas memory. The children had interesting questions to ask them and they patiently answered. Chocolates were given to the children and they were so happy to receive one. The Children sang Christmas Carols and the Nuns joined in. They were impressed at how well the children sang. A kind grandparent bought each of the Nuns a small Christmas Present. They were overjoyed!

The nuns had tears in their eyes when we left. To them, this was their best Christmas. I am sure this visit has touched the hearts of our little children!
