The Grade 9 and 10 students of St. Stanislaus International School visited a Jesuit mission station in Tara, Raigad on 16th December 2022. Fr. Joseph and Fr. Jacob spoke with the students about the educational and medical facilities provided to the nearby villages. The students were accompanied by 2 parent volunteers, Mrs. N. D’costa and Mrs. M. Fernandes and 2 teachers- Mr. Montwyn and Ms. Desirée.
The students visited 2 of the many villages viz. Tara and Kalhe. They spent the day interacting with under privileged children and had a first hand glimpse of economic and social disparity prevalent a few hours away from a city they call ‘Home.’It was indeed an enriching experience developing sensitivity, nurturing compassion and having known privileges one otherwise takes for granted.
