‘Ite, Inflammate, Omnia- Go, Set the world on fire’- St. Ignatius of Loyola.
The feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola was celebrated by the management, staff and students of St. Stanislaus International School with great enthusiasm on the 27th of July.
The school was filled with shades of yellow as all the staff and students donned outfits of that colour. Grade I and II enjoyed a colouring activity and were inspired to practice small acts of generosity in the likeness of St. Ignatius. There was a chart making competition in each class from Grade III onwards. The students were divided into house-wise groups to make informative charts on St. Ignatius.
Then followed a short programme in the school hall. Our comperes brought out the theme, Go Forth and set the world on fire right at the start to set the tone for the programme. The students of the Primary Section then led the congregation in prayer. Following this, a video highlighted a few important moments in St. Ignatius’ life. Our students then reverently sang and danced to the prayer of St. Ignatius.
After being seated very quietly, the students finally were allowed to loosen up during the quiz that followed- conducted by our Head Captain Jordan Rodrigues.
After all the excitement, one of our Jesuit fathers, Fr. Simon D’souza addressed the gathering. Thereafter the school felicitated Fr. Luke on the occasion of his birthday with a beautiful card. Our Principal, Sir Montwyn gave the vote of thanks and the programme was brought to a close with the March of St. Ignatius.
The children returned to their classes to enjoy some fellowship snacks and were encouraged to be generous in their daily lives.
It was indeed a delightful morning for the whole school!
