The students of St. Stanislaus International were given an opportunity to take part in various activities to bring about a sense of social responsibility and awareness among them.
To be a ‘Person for Others’ is a Jesuit mission and we at St. Stanislaus, take this motto seriously.
The students of Grades 1 and 2 took part in a programme organised for their grandparents, to acknowledge all that they do for them. They practised for a couple of weeks, preparing their performances for the programme. The ‘Grandparents Day’ programme was held on the 25th of November in the School Hall. After a short prayer, the programme began with a song to welcome our guests. Dances in both English and Hindi kept their feet tapping, as the kids put their best foot forward, literally!
The short comic skit that followed was a real laughter riot. Kids imitating their grandparents are sure to entertain. Finally, our ‘Thank You’ song summed up our message for the day. Our Principal, Mrs. Anna Correa, gave the vote of thanks and then invited our guests to relax and play a game of housie with their grandchildren. No function is complete without something to eat! And so refreshments were served to all our grandparents, while the children gave out the special heart-shaped cards that they had made for them.
We hope that this attitude of gratitude stays with our students, and that they may always remember to thank their grandparents and other elders for all that they do for them.
