The Techfest World MUN took place over a span of 2 days, 17th and 18th of December 2022 at IIT Mumbai. Students from various school were invited to attend the Techfest. We, Anushka Pinheiro, Zoya Shah, Sarah D’souza, Mayrah D’costa and Jordan Cole Rodrigues from Grade 9 along with William Buthello, Aarav Chaudhari, Nevan Pereira and Ali Madhi Irani from Grade 8 attended this session from St Stanislaus International School. We were accompanied by Teachers Tresa Pallikunnath and Ankita Desai.
The event kick-started with an opening ceremony where Indian culture was on full display as the dress code for Day 1 was Indian ethnic wear. The itinerary for both the days was explained by our host followed by a speech by Ms. Nandini Shailendran, Secretary General and Ms. Indrayanee Pandit, Deputy Secretary General.
Students were divided into 3 committees: UNOC, SOCHUM and DISEC. They had about an hour and half to interact with each other and form blocks before the session commenced. There were many session including debates and presentation by the students and delegates. The closing ceremony included distribution of awards to the winning committee, best delegate and many more. The session ended with a Drone Light Concert organized by Techfest itself. Overall, the experience was one to remember and we would like to have many more sessions like this in the future.
