We celebrated Science week from 27 February to 3 March 2023. The main objective of the week was to develop a scientific spirit amongst our students, and to encourage them to adopt scientific methods as a way of life.
National Science Day was observed on 28 February to commemorate the discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’ by the Nobel prize awardee Sir C.V. Raman.
Assemblies and activities were conducted throughout the week. Major themes included ‘Scientists Around the World’ and ‘World Wildlife Day’ in the Primary, and ‘Promoting Scientific Temper – Fact Checking and Debunking’, ‘Exciting and Unusual Careers in Science’, and ‘Young Scientists Across the Globe’ in the Secondary.
Our students made animal masks and posters on various scientists. The week culminated with grades 7, 8 and 9 joining the ‘Fridays For Future’ movement as part of a Global Climate Strike to spread climate awareness and sensitisation.
