Plastic and Paper collection Drive

One of the core objectives of St. Stanislaus International School is to nurture students into responsible citizens who care for their common home—the Earth. In line with this vision, the Eco Club – StanEcoGuardians was founded in the academic year 2024–25 to promote sustainability and environmental responsibility within the school community.

As part of its initiatives, the club launched a recycling drive focusing on the collection of plastic and paper waste. To support this, the school partnered with Start Upcycling Now (SUN), founded by Natasha D’Costa and Ajay D’Costa. A workshop was conducted by Natasha, where 30 student representatives from Grades 4 to 9 were trained. These students then educated their classmates and took the lead in starting and conducting the collection drive in their respective classes.

Since February 2025, the drive has been actively carried out in school and has already yielded encouraging results. Together, students have collected:

  • 67 kgs of plastic waste
  • 132 kgs of paper waste

This collected waste has been sent for recycling, ensuring that our students not only gain awareness but also actively practice their responsibility towards the environment through consistent effort and teamwork.
