Christmas, the time of year when everyone is brimming with festive cheer, was celebrated at St. Stanislaus International with the usual gusto. The corridors and classrooms were decorated; the music class was filled with Christmas tunes and the art class had many Santa- and Frosty-themed crafts. Amidst this seasonal joy, however, the true meaning of Christmas was not lost.

On the 19th of December, the students were given a little reminder, before Christmas, of the reason for the season, at the Christmas programme in the School Hall.  Through a shadow play performance to the heavenly ‘Christmas Halleluia,’ the students were reminded of Jesus’ humble birth in a manger. Jesus came into the world from these simple beginnings and gave us the perfect example of greatness in austerity.

A short quiz followed to lighten the mood and tickle their competitive bone. Then came a short skit by our little ones, which delivered the message through light-hearted dialogue and mimicry. Our Principal, Sir Montwyn, spoke to the students and reiterated the Christmas message. With that, we came to the end of our Christmas programme in the Hall.

The students were then escorted to the grounds for some fun! The 5 groups: ‘Reindeer, snowmen, Santas, Angels and Elves’ competed in some exciting relay games. Following this invigorating half-an-hour of frolic, the students assembled in their classes to enjoy some Christmas music and exchange their Secret Santa gifts. There was a small surprise for our little ones in the Primary Section: No other than Santa Claus decided to visit them and click a few photos with them! The excitement that ensued was priceless.

And just like that, it was already time to go home. With smiles on their faces and gifts and sweets in their hands, the students left the school, carrying with them not just the joy of the season, but also the true spirit of Christmas—love, kindness, and togetherness. The day had been a perfect blend of celebration and reflection, a reminder that the essence of Christmas is about giving, sharing, and cherishing the moments we have with one another.
