Introduction:
The annual Sports Day for St. Stanislaus International School was a remarkable success, showcasing a wide range of athletic talent, teamwork, and school spirit. The event brought together students, teachers, and parents for a day filled with competition and celebration of physical education.
Opening Ceremony:
The event began with an inspiring opening ceremony where the Students of Grade 4 put up an Aerobics Display followed by a Lezium Display and a Pyramid Display by the Secondary Students. The students of the Secondary Section marched in their respective houses. The atmosphere was electric as the house captains and assistant house captains led their groups proudly, holding banners and cheering. The Chief Guest of the event, Mr. Vincent Fernandes, delivered an encouraging speech, motivating all the students to give their best and enjoy the spirit of the competition.
Events and Activities:
A variety of events were held, including sprints, fancy races, relay races, and tug-of-war. The students showed exceptional skill and enthusiasm in each category. Some of the highlights of the day included:
- 100m & 200m Sprint (Boys/Girls):
The sprint race was one of the most anticipated events of the day. - Fancy Races (Primary)
The young Stanislites participated in fancy races that were based on Christmas Themes.
- Relay Race:
The relay race was a thrilling contest between the different houses. - Tug-of-War:
The tug-of-war event was a crowd favourite, with teams from different houses facing off securing the win with teamwork and strength.
Special Recognition:
Special awards were given for sportsmanship, leadership, and perseverance.
Closing Ceremony:
The event concluded with a closing ceremony, where the overall champions were announced. They took home the coveted Sports Day Trophy, having accumulated the most points through their performance across events. The winners were presented with medals and certificates.
Conclusion:
Sports Day 2024 was an outstanding success, promoting healthy competition, teamwork, and a sense of community. Congratulations to all the participants, and a special thanks to the teachers, staff, and parents for their support. The event has certainly left everyone looking forward to next year’s competition.
